Interior Design Ideas To Boost Your Mood!

Now that winter is upon us, bringing with it shorter days and long, dark nights, no doubt there are many out there among you concerned about how the wind, cold, rain and lack of sunlight will affect your mood… but what if we told you that you could make a big difference to your emotional state with just a couple of interior design tweaks here and there.

Interior designer Amy Brandhorst and design psychologist and consultant Eleftheria Karipidi have collaborated on behalf of Harper’s Bazaar to come up with a few home makeover ideas that could really give you a mood boost during this wintry season - and throughout the rest of the year as well.

If, for example, you’re keen to feel a little bit calmer at home, bring in various shades of blue as this is one of the most serene colours you can go for. Either go all out and paint your bedroom blue or perhaps start off smaller with the likes of modern cushions, rugs and throws, and so on.

Round shapes were also recommended as these can help drive positive emotions like friendliness and approachability - so perhaps bear this in mind when out shopping for home decor in the future as well.

You might also want to read up on the psychology of shapes, as this could help you make other interior decisions later down the line.
